As district energy specialists, we are laser focussed on our core capabilities, driving the progress of our clients with unrivalled knowledge and expertise.

Energy Generation

We design, install and commission Energy Centres to create energy solutions that bring low-carbon, low cost, heating and cooling to customers throughout the UK.

Energy Centres

We design, install, and commission the energy centres which service the network through a variety of energy solutions.

Typically, an Energy Centre supplies heat, cooling, steam, and/or electricity to a cluster of buildings, all from a centralised location. This approach eliminates the need for individual energy solutions for each building, streamlining energy management practices.

Waste Energy

Waste-to-energy is unique in it's ability to efficiently distribute heat that would otherwise go to waste.

The best opportunity is to source waste-heat from major energy consuming services such as data centres, watercourses, energy from waste plants, or geothermal wells and electricity transformers.

"ThermaMech are a fantastic organisation, who have worked collaboratively throughout, often going the extra mile when required. They have stepped up when asked and I hope to work with them long into the future."

Our Approach

WE WORK WITH EXPERTISE
Our designers, engineers, and energy experts are committed to designing cost effective, efficient and reliable energy centres. And because we only employ industry leading teams experienced in building energy infrastructure, we can guarantee compliance with safety regulations and environmental standards.

WE DELIVER EXCELLENCE
The completion of every project is supported by rigorous testing and commissioning of components to ensure proper functionality, efficiency, and safety. This ensures the successful construction and operation of energy centres which contributes to the efficient and sustainable provision of heating and cooling across the UK.

Energy Distribution

Partnering with a turnkey solution for your district energy networks, is the best way to optimise the quality, efficiency and value of your project.

City-wide networks

Low-to-Zero Carbon district heating networks, allow cities to completely redevelop their heating systems, removing the need for building by building heat combustion and replacing it with centralised and clean energy for businesses, organisations and residences.

Localised networks

These allow developers of new or regenerated communities to provide customers with a centralised, low cost, low carbon form of heat.

"We have worked with Therma-Mech for a number of years and have engaged with them on a framework for our heat network delivery. We find them to be professional, responsive and conscientious and would recommend to other employers."

Director of Design (Heat)

Our Approach

LONG TERM THINKING
We are long term partners in the delivery of localised and city-wide networks, for low density & high density communities.

Not just working closely with our clients to overcome the challenges of each project, but to consider the long term opportunities and wider potential to scale.

Energy Interfaces

We design, build and install the energy interfaces which give the end user control over their heating system, and remove the need for building by building boilers.

Substations

A district heating and cooling substation is a hydraulic separation in a district system that connects the main network to a building's own heating system. The station enables a split between the primary and secondary network.

A substation is a critical part of wider city networks and will be used more widely when existing commercial premises are connected to a city wide network.

Heat Interface Units (HIU’s)

Heat Interface Units (HIU) are typically used during the construction of high and low density residential projects.

They act as a bridge between the centralised network and the individual dwelling, removing the need to install individual boilers in each premises, therefore driving low cost and energy saving.

Our Approach

DESIGN
We collaborate closely with our clients to understand their specific requirements and preferences for heating and cooling substations. Our inhouse design team develops customised solutions tailored to the unique needs of each project, considering factors such as capacity, efficiency, space constraints, and aesthetic considerations.

BUILD
Once the design is finalised, the pre-fabrication is undertaken in a controlled manufacturing facility. Utilising advanced manufacturing techniques and quality materials, we ensure that each substation is constructed to the highest standards. ThermaMech select energy-efficient and reliable equipment from trusted manufacturers, ensuring optimal performance and longevity.

INSTALL
Our experienced installation team handles the assembly and integration of the substation, ensuring seamless connectivity with existing infrastructure.

EFFICIENCY
The energy efficiency and performance of our prefabricated substations is second to none. By incorporating advanced heating and cooling technologies, supplied by a renewable energy source, we help clients reduce energy consumption, lower operating costs, and minimise their environmental impact.
